Nikiti Beach is a famous wide, sandy and organized beach in Sithonia which is awarded a Blue Flag and is a preferred place for families’ holiday with kids as well as couples looking for a romantic place.
The marina on the north part of the beach harbours sailboats and yachts. The waterfront is almost 4 km long, surrounded by pine trees and olive groves. The beach itself has beautiful white sand that continues into the sea. The widest areas of the coastline are located on its southern outskirts, which are wilder and more secluded. The sand along the coast is pure as well as the sea water which has an impressive turquoise-emerald colour. The sea is crystal pure, initially shallow in depth and slowly increasing, which allows children to have fun and play safely in the coolness of the sea water and parents to enjoy them calmly.
“Nikiti Beach” has a well-developed infrastructure. The beach is well organized with sun beds and umbrellas. At the southern shore part of the coastline, the beach is less developed, and there is the perfect spot for nature lovers which want to enjoy calmer and quieter place for sunbathing and swimming nearby the main beach
Nikiti conveniently has just about everything it can offer right by the beach so there is no need to go far for anything..Along the coast there are many waterside restaurants, taverns as well as cafes where you can find traditional Greek coffee. And in the evening, walking along the coastal street, you can enjoy the magnificent sunsets. People say sunsets are like humans you will never find the same one.
The list of good beaches in Sithonia is quite long and they all have a free area where you can put up your own umbrella or grab a drink of a local bar and use their sunbeds. The beaches are very diverse and everyone can find their place by the sea, small and isolated, or popular with many visitors and fancy beach bars. There are many beach spots near Nikiti, among which are the beaches of Agios Ioannis, Kalogria, Koviou and others. Famous for their beauty are the beaches of Azapiko, Tristinika, Korakas, Marathias, Kalamitsi and Kriaritsi. Most beaches are public and have a nice bar or tavern.
BEACHES NEAR NIKITI
Nikiti is an excellent choice as a location because both the beaches on the east and on the west coast are easily accessible.
There are a lot of amazing sandy beaches around Nikiti, with the closest to the town being Agios Ioannis.
If you head towards Neos Marmaras, you can expect a large number of beaches, some of which are among the most beautiful in Sithonia.
KALOGRIA BEACH
It is located 5 km south of Nikiti towards Neos Marmaras and about 1 km after Agios Ioannis beach. The beach is sandy, long and narrow, and the water is shallow and calm and perfect not only for children to play, but also for those who like to float on an inflatable mattress. Crystal clear water and places where you can find natural shade. At the end of the beach is the famous Isla bar, popular among young people. The bar has free parking for its guests. Between Mango Cafe on the left and Isla Bar there is a free space for umbrellas, and in the middle of the beach there is a fast food pavilion with umbrellas and sunbeds in front of it.
The beach is accessible by car and there is street parking.
KOVIOU BEACH
Koviou beach is one of the most beautiful though not so well-known beaches. It lies in a small bay, between Agios Ioannis and Kalogria, about 6 km south of Nikiti and is surrounded by small hills with low vegetation and some pine trees. It is a relaxing beach, not too much crowded, as most holidaymakers prefer the nearby beaches of Kalogria and Agios Ioannis. The coast is covered with fine, white sand and the sea has crystal-clear, warm, blue waters. It deepens smoothly, making it ideal for young children. In one part of the beach there is natural shade. Along the shore to either end of the beach is a good place for snorkeling. Koviou beach also boasts a blue flag, thanks to the virgin landscape and seawater quality.
LAGOMANTRA BEACH
Lagomandra Beach is Blue Flag. Located north of Neos Marmaras, 13 km from Nikiti, the beach is one of the most popular in the area with a beautiful view of Mount Athos, with pines and plane trees generously offering you their invaluable shade. Lagomandra is a sandy beach with sand and in the water, which is great for the youngest swimmers and families. In the northern part there is a beach bar with sunbeds and umbrellas, the rest of the beach is free. In the south it is very well organized for water sports and is great if you are looking for some activity. A well-trained, experienced and fully equipped lifeguard ensures your safety at Armenistis Beach.
There are taverns right behind the beach in the pine grove. There is a well-maintained parking lot next to the beach, most of which is in the shade. We recommend to come early to the beach and get a good place in the shade, as it is very crowded during the season and it is difficult to find a place in the shade, as well as a free sunbed and umbrella.
TRANI AMMOUDA BEACH
Trani Amoudia or Livrohio which is its second name, is situated nearby Ormos Panagias. This big sandy beach is one of the best on Sitonia. Hidden gem is the perfect destination for tourists looking to relax and unwind. You can expect to sea the impressive turquoise-colored waters and sandy bottom. Pine forests and olive trees all around the area, combined with the sea and the white sand, form a unique natural scenery. There is more enough space to put your parasols and towels. Of course, there is a part of the beach where you can get deck-chairs and parasols with an ordered drink from a nearby bar.
On the northern end of the beach there is a small cape where you can find the remainings of the old Byzathium tower. Archaeologists believe that here used to be the location of the Antique town Sigos.
On the beach you can find water sports and water park, so you can have fun there also. Visitors can go snorkeling or scuba diving to explore the underwater world or rent a boat to explore the surrounding coastline. The beach also has beach volleyball and beach soccer courts for those who want to be more active.
KAVOUROTRYPES BEACH
Kavourotripes beach is located between Armenistis and Platanitsi beaches and certainly looks exotic. It is among the best beaches in Sithonia, and arguably the most famous. Pine trees and rocks with white hues come in stark contrast with the cyan waters, shallow, bright, and mirror-like. The beach is sandy, and it has a great view of Mount Athos. Thanks to its relatively shallow waters and no waves, it is kid-friendly.
There is a small beach bar Portokali nearby to grab something to eat or drink on a hot summer day.
It is not easily accessible, though it always gets overcrowded. Тhere are no road signs to Kavourotripes. On the way to Sarti, about 6 kms south of Armenistis camping and 5 kms north of Platanitsi camping, at the trail with continuous turns there is a long straight road. There, at the beach side among the pine trees, there are some small openings like dirt road. At these points are the entrance to the beautiful beaches which are not far from the main road. Usually one walks down on foot through the paths. An element that will help you is the sign you can see from the main road marked «beach bar Portokali»
Kavourotrypes forms a lace-like coastline of small secluded beaches with crystal clear waters, white coves and dense pine trees
Tip: This beach is very crowded, and at times there’s not enough space. Nearby, you can find other small coves, rockier but somewhat secluded.
